Max Freund (b.1992, Vienna) is a painter and printmaker, dealing with the uncertainty of identity, material and matter of western ideas about working ethics. After graduating in 2017 from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, he has participated in various international exhibitions and official institutions such as Kunstverein Wolfenbüttel (D), G/ART/EN contemporary art space (IT), Museumsquartier Q21 (A), Studio H13 Lyon (FR), Modern Art Museum Shanghai (CN), Belvedere 21 (A), Westergasfabriek Amsterdam (NL), Delphian Gallery (GB) and others. Besides his studio process, he is part of the micro-publishing house and artist collective Soybot, focused on the production of artists books, zines and editions with the focus on risograph printing.
