Former Studio Artist from March 2016 – December 2016
Hubert Hasler, born in 1975 in Bruck/Mur, studied at the School for Artistic Photography (Friedl Kubelka) in Vienna.
Empathy, migration, and self-reflection are topics that move, affect and lure Austrian photographerHasler over and over again. These issues can be tackled through photographic means, but can also be represented by the use of plants, flowers, bouquets – alternatively, they can be combined in a performative manner, bringing together two very divergent disciplines and respectively forms of art and craftsmanship. As the significance of a photograph can be reinforced or enriched by drawing attention to flowers, the artist thus aims to examine whether a correlation between these two categories exists.
