Lavinia Lanner’s work centres around drawing. In this way, she meticulously reflects on her surroundings. Abstract graphic, sometimes orthography-like, shapes intertwine with organic structure, ranging from postcard-size to room-filling installations. In her current research, she studies letters and poems of the American writer Emily Dickinson. This will be the starting point of a new series comprising thoughts about becoming, metamorphosis, rest, seclusion, rooms of her own, unconventional punctuation, rhythm and idiosyncratic use of words, blankness and silence.
