Ilari Laamanen is an independent curator based in New York. Through his interdisciplinary practice he aims to question and expand perceptions of communication in hyperconnected culture. He is especially interested in entanglements of bodies and technologies.

He is the curator of Trance, the main exhibition of the seventh Tallinn Photomonth contemporary art biennial (October – November 2023). He is a recipient of Saari Fellowship in Finland in March–April 2023.

Laamanen received his MA in Curating, Managing and Mediating Art at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture and his BA in Media studies at the University of Turku.
