Rui Ferreira, born in Lisbon in 1977, studied Fine Arts at Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa and holds an MFA in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths University, London.
“As a starting point I am using drawings made by others, staging myself as a model, which help me thinking about the possibilities and failures of representation. By mixing drawing, painting and sculpture conventions and due to the plastic value of the materials used results become further from language.”
