Branka Benčić is an Independent Curator with basic research, writing and curatorial interests include exhibiting moving images, curatorial practices, re-reading historical trajectories of conceptual and avant-garde art, and projects exploring issues on cities, architecture and urban spaces, working in different discoursive and presentation formats.

She is involved in several ongoing programs and a number of individual curatorial projects: Founder and curator of Cinemaniac – research platform for exhibiting moving images established in 2002 as the support program of Pula Film Festival. Since May 2013 she is Artistic director at Apoteka –space for contemporary art, a project space in Vodnjan (Croatia) and curating  Artists’ Cinema ongoing screening program at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb (since 2012). Recent long term research projects and collaborations were focused on experimental film in former Yugoslavia and the emergence of early video art (2010 – ongoing).
