studio ASYNCHROME is a transdisciplinary experiment founded 2013 in Graz by artists and urbanists Marleen Leitner and Michael Schitnig (both 1986). Beside studies of painting and photography they received their architectural diploma with distinction from the Institute of Contemporary Art. The initial position of their artistic demands is the assertion, that the UTOPIA has to be understood neither as a failed plan nor as a building task. It rather serves as tool and method to work critically and artistically not doomed to failure, but as a way to change the world. Their works have been shown at various exhibitions i.a.: Austrian Cultural Forum New York, National Gallery Oslo, Ex Elettrofonica Gallery Rom, Designweek Peking, Platforms Project Athen, BRUSEUM – Neue Galerie Graz, Vienna Biennale, <rotor>, steirischer herbst, OK Linz, Kunsthalle Graz.
