Former Studio Artist from April 2017 – June 2018
Christiana Perschon holds a diploma in Media Studies and Fine Arts (Art and Film at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna). She works at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for History and Society.
Perschon deals with pictures of history and human beings, whom she encounters with the moving image. She primarily works with the technique of montage and focuses on the in-between, the interaction and the role of the camera as an actor. Thus, it is used as a tool for vision – not in the sense of holding on to something, but rather to keep moving the own sight and thinking. Visionsarebecoming boundarypoints. Currently Christiana Perschon is working on a movie with visual artists, who influenced the Vienna art scene from the 1960s onwards with their art and sociopolitical engagement.
