Jury Statement
Johanna Bruckner‘s body of work convinced the jury in its complex aesthetic and thematic diversity. The artist often works with topics of queer post pornography, net porn data, transitions, irritation of pre-defined views, and uses the combination of video, sound, performance and installation for creating worlds of abstract corporeality with illogical intimacies and desires under the contemporary surveillance of data. The jury believes that her timely, multilayered approach and her unsettling, thought provoking messages will resonate both in Vienna and in Novi Sad, inspiring the audience to reflect on the human body, intimacies and emotional worlds produced by the ongoing transformation of technology with the imagination for new temporalities and political agencies.

The submitted concept, of experiencing her digital works in both exhibition spaces together with „non normative“ sculptural organs proposes her idea of the „Other Europe” as a metabolic system, through which hegemonic orders are challenged and space is created for the affective and the sensible. A multi-layered dissolution and presentation is to be expected, which will not only create pleasant connotations in the minds of the spectators and which must lead to ethical questions.
